The ARM Motorsports Mk7 GTI Catted Downpipe is an essential upgrade for Gen 3 EA888 equipped GTIs seeking to maximize performance. The stock downpipe's dense catalyst restricts exhaust flow, leading to increased back-pressure, turbo lag, and extra work for the turbocharger. Replacing it with the ARM downpipe significantly improves exhaust flow and reduces back-pressure, resulting in faster turbo spool, increased power and torque, and an enhanced exhaust note. This upgraded downpipe also enables the use of Stage 2+ tuning software with boost targets over 25psi, which is not recommended with the stock unit and can stress the turbo. Constructed from TIG-welded T304 grade stainless steel, this downpipe features a solid, single-piece design that prevents the exhaust leaks and installation issues common with multi-piece alternatives. Laser-cut mounting brackets and CNC-machined mounting prongs ensure a precise fit to the stock downpipe mounting points. The kit includes a 2.5" reducer for connection to the stock exhaust and a 3" adapter for aftermarket cat-back systems, both utilizing a CNC-machined v-band system for a secure and reliable seal.
