The ARM Motorsports Mk7 GTI Catted Downpipe is engineered to enhance the performance of your Gen 3 EA888 equipped GTI. The stock downpipe's restrictive catalyst impedes exhaust flow, leading to increased back-pressure, turbo lag, and added stress on the turbocharger. By replacing the OEM unit with this performance downpipe, you can significantly improve exhaust flow, reduce back-pressure, and achieve faster turbo spool, resulting in increased power and torque. This upgrade is often a requirement for running more aggressive Stage 2+ tuning software, as attempting to exceed 25psi with the stock downpipe is not recommended and can over-stress the turbo. Constructed from TIG welded T304 stainless steel, the ARM MK7 GTI Downpipe boasts a single-piece design that eliminates the installation issues and exhaust leaks common with multi-piece alternatives. It features laser-cut mounting brackets and CNC machined mounting prongs for precise fitment to the stock mounting points. The kit includes a 2.5" reducer for connection to the stock exhaust system and a 3" adapter for upgraded cat-back systems, both utilizing a CNC machined v-band system for a secure and reliable seal.
