The Cometic MLS cylinder head gasket is engineered for high output Honda D15Z1, D16Y5, D16Y7, D16Y8, and D16Z6 engines, offering superior sealing capabilities. This gasket features a 75mm bore and a 0.040-inch thickness, with a compressed operating thickness of 0.036 inches. Constructed from Multi-Layer Steel (MLS), the gasket utilizes multiple layers of stainless steel for increased strength, rebound ability, and corrosion resistance. The outer layers are embossed and coated with Viton, a heat-resistant fluoroelastomer rubber that can withstand temperatures up to 250°C (482°F). The center shim layer is made of uncoated stainless steel, allowing for adjustments to accommodate different thickness requirements. Cometic MLS head gaskets are ideal for applications with aluminum heads to aluminum blocks, as well as aluminum heads to cast iron blocks, as they can withstand the shearing forces between different materials.
