Constructed from multiple embossed layers of stainless steel, its outer layers are coated with Viton, a heat-resistant fluoroelastomer rubber capable of withstanding temperatures up to 250°C (482°F). This gasket has a compressed operating thickness of 0.051 inches and an 88mm bore, making it suitable for specific engine applications. MLS head gaskets offer enhanced strength due to their layered construction, allowing them to rebound and resist corrosion. They are ideal for applications involving aluminum heads to aluminum blocks or aluminum heads to cast iron blocks, as they can withstand the shearing forces generated between dissimilar materials.
