The Cometic C4147-070 is a premium Multi-Layer Steel (MLS) engine gasket designed for specific applications. This gasket features a compressed thickness of .070 inches, a valve pocketed bore shape for optimal performance, and a bore size of 83mm. It is constructed with 5 layers to ensure durability and reliable sealing. This particular Cometic gasket is engineered for the BMC 1.8L B-Series engine found in the MG MGB from 1962 to 1964. The MLS construction provides superior sealing capabilities, capable of handling higher pressures and temperatures compared to traditional gasket materials. The valve pocketed design accommodates valve movement, preventing interference and ensuring proper engine operation.
