The Cometic C4195-098 is a Multi-Layer Steel (MLS) head gasket engineered for maximum sealing performance in high-output engines, eliminating the need for additional sealants. Its construction utilizes multiple embossed layers of stainless steel, providing increased strength, rebound capability, and corrosion resistance. The outer layers are coated with Viton, a heat-resistant elastomer capable of withstanding temperatures up to 250°C (482°F), designed to handle demanding sealing environments. The center shim layer is uncoated stainless steel, offering flexibility for various thickness requirements. This MLS design is equally effective for mating aluminum heads to aluminum blocks or aluminum heads to cast iron blocks, as it can effectively manage the shearing forces between dissimilar materials. With a compressed operating thickness of 0.098 inches and a 76mm bore, this head gasket is specifically designed for Honda D15Z1, D16Y5, D16Y7, D16Y8, and D16Z6 SOHC engines.
