The Mobil Gargoyle Arctic 300 is a high-performance naphthenic mineral oil specifically formulated for use in refrigeration compressors. Its formulation provides a low pour point and exceptional fluidity, even at very low temperatures, due to its near wax-free composition. This characteristic helps maintain clean evaporator tubes, thereby enhancing heat transfer efficiency and minimizing maintenance requirements and operational downtime. This refrigeration compressor oil exhibits good chemical stability, making it suitable for both cylinder and bearing lubrication. It is compatible with most common refrigerants, with the exception of sulfur dioxide. However, it is not recommended for use with HFC refrigerants. While the moisture content of Mobil Gargoyle Arctic oils is kept very low during packaging, it is crucial to take precautions to maintain the oil's dryness. This helps prevent the formation of ice in expansion valves and mitigates risks associated with oil degradation and copper plating.
