The Mobil Mobilgard 410 NC is a specialized engine oil engineered for demanding diesel engines, particularly those found in marine applications and manufactured by EMD. It utilizes an EMD and General Electric (GE) endorsed additive technology, formulated without zinc or chlorine, to meet the stringent performance requirements of these engines. This ISO 40 viscosity oil offers robust corrosion protection, even when operating with fuels containing up to 0.05 wt.% sulfur. Its formulation includes an alkalinity reserve to safeguard internal engine components, including metals like steel, copper, silver, and bronze, from corrosive elements. The oil boasts excellent lubricating properties and a high viscosity index, which contributes to reduced oil consumption and ensures clean, smooth engine operation even during intermittent marine service. Key features of the Mobilgard 410 NC include high thermal and oxidation stability, which helps prevent sludge formation. It provides effective anti-wear and load-carrying capabilities to protect critical wear surfaces and prolong engine life.
