The Mobil Mobilgard 540 is a marine diesel engine cylinder oil designed for slow-speed crosshead engines. It is specifically formulated for use with 0.50 percent sulfur fuels and is also suitable for Ultra Low (<0.10%S) sulfur fuel operation when following Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) guidance. This oil features a BN level of 40mg/KOH/g for effective acid neutralization.

It is formulated to handle fuels with up to 0.50 percent sulfur content and can also be used with Ultra Low sulfur fuels (<0.10%S) when adhering to OEM recommendations. Mobilgard 540 provides excellent all-round performance through its balanced formulation. It has a Base Number (BN) of 40mg/KOH/g, ensuring sufficient neutralization of acids formed during combustion. This helps keep engines clean, thereby minimizing maintenance requirements and reducing component wear rates. The oil also offers excellent thermal and oxidative stability, ensuring consistent performance across a wide range of engine operating conditions. With an optimum viscosity of 20cST at 100°C, Mobilgard 540 ensures proper lubricant distribution and oil film retention, which is crucial for protecting vital engine parts.
