The Mobilgrease 28 is a polyalphaolefin (PAO), clay-based multipurpose grease designed for airframe and wheel bearing applications. It lubricates plain and rolling bearings at low to high speeds, as well as splines, screws, worm gears, and other mechanisms requiring high friction reduction and low wear. This grease meets key military and commercial aviation specifications.

Mobilgrease 28 is a supreme performance, wide-temperature, antiwear grease that combines a polyalphaolefin (PAO) synthetic base fluid with an organo-clay (non-soap) thickener. Its consistency is between an NLGI No. 1 and No. 2 grease, offering outstanding performance across a broad temperature range from -65°F to 250°F. The wax-free synthetic base fluid and high viscosity index provide excellent low-temperature pumpability and very low starting and running torque, which can help reduce operating temperatures in rolling element bearings. The organo-clay thickener contributes to a high dropping point of around 300ºC, ensuring excellent stability at high temperatures. Mobilgrease 28 is formulated to resist water washing, provide superior load-carrying ability, reduce frictional drag, and prevent excessive wear. Tests have demonstrated its effectiveness in lubricating rolling element bearings under high speeds and temperatures, as well as heavily loaded sliding mechanisms like wing flap screw jacks. With a 10-year shelf life, it offers airlines the potential for inventory consolidation and maximized value. Mobilgrease 28 meets the performance requirements of key military and commercial aviation specifications and is fully approved for multipurpose airframe and wheel bearing applications.
