The Mobil Mobilmet 766 is an extra high-performance, chlorine-free neat cutting oil engineered for severe machining operations, particularly those involving difficult-to-machine steels. This oil-based fluid comes in a 5-gallon pail and is suitable for a broad range of applications including broaching, gear shaving, milling, planing, tapping, and threading. Its light, transparent color ensures a clear view of the tool and workpiece, which helps in achieving closer machining tolerances and reduces the likelihood of rejects. Additionally, the anti-mist formulation contributes to a safer and more pleasant working environment by preventing oil mist formation in the vicinity of the machine tool. While highly effective on steels, the Mobilmet 760 Series oils are not recommended for use with copper and its alloys due to their aggressive nature towards these softer yellow metals.
