Modified VTC Cam Gear

When installing high-lift, high-duration cams, the stock VTC system can advance the intake cam too far at high RPM, leading to potentially catastrophic piston-to-valve contact. This modified gear acts as a mechanical stop, limiting the VTC advance to a safe angle specific to your cam profile, thus preventing engine damage. Constructed from brand new OEM RBB VTC gears, each unit is CNC machined to precise tolerances, ensuring perfect fitment and function. Drag Cartel offers four distinct advance limit options: 30, 35, 40, and 45 degrees. The selection depends on your camshaft specifications; more aggressive cams typically require less advance (30-35 degrees), while milder cams can utilize more (40-45 degrees). It is recommended to consult your cam manufacturer or tuner for the optimal advance limit for your setup. Custom advance limits are also available upon request. This modified VTC cam gear is compatible with K20A2 (2002-2004 Acura RSX Type-S), K20Z1 (2005-2006 Acura RSX Type-S), K20Z3 (2006-2011 Honda Civic Si), K24A2 (2004-2008 Acura TSX), and other K20 and K24 engines that use the RBB cam gear. However, it does NOT fit the K24Z7 (2012-2015 Civic Si) or the K24W1 (2016+ Civic).
