The VTT Modular Cast Aluminum CNC Valve Cover Kit offers a durable and high-performance upgrade for BMW N54 3.0L engines, serving as a cost-effective alternative to the stock plastic cover. Precision-machined from aircraft-grade 6061-T6 aluminum, this valve cover is designed for strength and longevity. It features a fully baffled design to prevent oil escape and allows for complete customization of the PCV system by eliminating the factory setup. This modular design ensures seamless integration with all VTT PCV fittings, breather options, and accessories. Key features include its robust cast CNC aluminum construction, a lightweight design (weighing 9.0 lbs compared to the stock 7.9 lbs), and a choice of three powder-coated finishes: Black Wrinkle, Blue Wrinkle, or Red Wrinkle. The kit comes direct-fit for BMW N54 engines and includes a new factory gasket and all required installation hardware. Powder coating is included at no extra charge. Additionally, the stainless breather or vacuum relief will not fit on the front ORB port due to clearance issues with the hood. Installation requires hand-tightening, warming the engine, and re-tightening by hand; overtightening can crack the valve cover. For optimal performance and to prevent issues like smoking or oil bypassing, an external PCV setup to create crankcase vacuum at idle is highly recommended, along with blocking the head ports to relieve pressure on the gasket.
