Mono Amplifier

The Rockford Fosgate P500X1bd is a mono amplifier engineered to deliver substantial bass for your car audio system. Featuring super efficient Class-BD circuit topology, this amplifier is optimized specifically for subwoofers and mid-bass speakers, providing significant low-frequency response. It is capable of driving dual 4-ohm DVC subwoofers or a quad configuration of 2-ohm DVC subwoofers with its 1-ohm capability. This amplifier boasts a total RMS power of 500 Watts at 1-Ohm, with 300 Watts RMS at 2-Ohms and 150 Watts RMS at 4-Ohms. It is CTA-2006 compliant, ensuring its power ratings are real and not inflated marketing figures. The P500X1bd includes a built-in 12dB/octave Butterworth low-pass crossover adjustable from 50Hz to 250Hz, as well as an infrasonic filter set at 28Hz. Additionally, it features the Punch EQ2 Bass boost, offering 0dB to +18dB of adjustment at 45Hz, and RCA pass-thru outputs for system expansion. Key technologies integrated into this amplifier include C.L.E.A.N. (Calibrated Level Eliminates Audible Noise) setup with input/output clip LEDs for proper gain matching, and MEHSA 3 (Micro Electronic Heat Sink Application) to reduce MOSFET temperatures and enhance durability. It also incorporates NOMAD (Non-Oscillating Monitoring And Diagnostic) protection against shorted speaker wires and low impedances, along with balanced differential inputs to eliminate noise picked up by signal cables. The amplifier is designed with a cast aluminum heatsink for effective convection cooling and features muted turn-on to prevent speaker pop. Installation requires 4 AWG power wire and 8 AWG to 18 AWG speaker wire, with captive C-clamp connectors for both. A recommended 80A fuse (not included) is specified. The amplifier is designed for operation between 9-16 VDC and has an average current draw of 35A under music and a maximum draw of 70A under a sinewave load, suggesting a 75A alternator is recommended. It comes with a 1-year warranty.
