Overview

The Rockford Fosgate P400X1 is a 1-channel mono amplifier designed for medium to high-powered subwoofer applications. It delivers 250 Watts RMS into a 4-Ohm load and 400 Watts RMS into a 2-Ohm load. This amplifier can also be used for multi-speaker center channel applications. It features a 12dB/octave Butterworth crossover, onboard Punch EQ for bass tuning, and a cast aluminum heatsink for efficient cooling.

The Rockford Fosgate P400X1 is a versatile mono amplifier engineered for demanding subwoofer applications, capable of producing up to 400 Watts RMS at 2 Ohms. It also serves effectively in multi-speaker center channel setups. This amplifier is designed with a variable 12dB/octave Butterworth crossover, allowing for precise frequency adjustments, and includes an onboard Punch EQ that provides up to +18dB boost at 45Hz for enhanced bass response. The cast aluminum heatsink ensures efficient thermal management through convection cooling. Additional features include high-level input capability with an Auto Turn-On circuit and RCA pass-thru outputs. The amplifier also incorporates C.L.E.A.N. (Calibrated Level Eliminates Audible Noise) setup features with input clip indicators, and it is optional remote Punch Level Control (PLC2) ready. For installation, it requires a 4 AWG power wire gauge and uses captive C-clamp connectors for both power and speaker connections. The unit is designed with a stealth top-mounted control panel and includes protection circuits for short circuits and over-current situations. This amplifier operates within a 9-16 VDC range and has a recommended fuse of 60A. Its dimensions are 2.38" H x 7.76" W x 9.86" D, making it compact enough to fit under many seats. It is CTA-2006 compliant, ensuring its power ratings are realistic and meet industry standards.
