Overview

The Rockford Fosgate PM100X1K is a 100-watt mono amplifier designed to harvest DC and AC voltages from existing radio speaker outputs. This allows for connection without running a B+ cable and presents a safe load to the radio's amp circuit. It is IPX6 rated with a conformal coated PCB and enclosure for protection against water, dust, and UV rays. This model is sold as a pair of two amplifiers.

The Rockford Fosgate PM100X1K is a unique mono amplifier solution that utilizes patent-pending BTL technology. This 100-watt amplifier draws both its audio signal and power directly from the speaker outputs of your existing radio, eliminating the need for a separate B+ power cable. It achieves this by using the DC offset voltage for initial turn-on and primary amplification, then sharing the power load with the AC audio signal as volume increases. This innovative design allows the amplifier to charge its internal capacitor bank on the negative part of the AC signal wave. It presents a load to the radio's amplifier circuit comparable to a standard 2 or 4 ohm speaker, thus protecting the radio from low-impedance conditions. With a rated 20-watt output from the source unit, this amplifier can dynamically produce up to 100 watts. It features a selectable 2 or 4 ohm input switch to match the radio's output impedance and a selectable high-pass crossover with settings at 60Hz, 80Hz, and 100Hz for speaker protection. Constructed to be Element Ready™, the PM100X1K boasts a conformal coated PCB and an IPX6-rated enclosure, providing superior protection against water, dust, and UV rays, making it suitable for various environments. The compact, stealthy design with small dimensions (1.3" x 3" x 3.9") allows for versatile installation options, such as mounting directly in door panels. The kit includes two mono amplifiers for a pair installation.
