The Morimoto 4Banger A-Pillar LED system is designed to provide additional light, aimed precisely where needed, from long-range spot-lights for high-speed driving to ditch lights for illuminating the side of the road. This kit emphasizes versatility. It includes high-performance 4Banger LED pods (available in NCS and HXB versions) with a choice of beam patterns, installation brackets for easy setup, and a switched wire harness for proper power. The brackets are laser-cut from 304 stainless steel, electroplated, and powder-coated for durability. The white-output version is suitable for all-around visibility, while a yellow-output version is available for optimal performance in rain, snow, or fog, using Phosphor-Converted Yellow LEDs for effective penetration without compromising output. The design ensures reliability with a copper DTP (direct thermal path) PCB for heat transfer and a cast aluminum shell that is electroplated and powder-coated. The internals are potted, input wiring is over-molded, and the main gasket meets IP69K standards for weather resistance. Cable management features include mounting locations and clips on the bracket stem. The 4Banger LED pods feature proprietary elements, optimized optics using LucidShape with lumen-dense Nichia and Osram LEDs, and optimized thermal dynamics. The NCS Combo Beam offers a clear path with medium range, providing a blend of width and distance, making it suitable as an aid to high-performance headlights. The optional wire harness is also engineered for quality, featuring a triple-sealed proprietary 4-pin relay, an over-molded inline fuse holder with a 20A mini fuse, DT06-2S female outputs with dual seals, stainless steel power and ground terminals, and an M-Spec push-button switch with an amber-LED backlight. The A-Pillar brackets are compatible with LED pods from other brands, including Baja Designs, KC Hi-Lites, Rigid Industries, and Diode Dynamics. The Spot and Combo beams, when aimed properly, comply with SAE J581 standards for auxiliary high beams, and the Wide beam model complies with SAE J583 for fog lamps. Optional blackout covers are available for street legality in certain localities.
