The Morimoto 4Banger A-Pillar LED system is designed to provide additional light, aimed precisely for various driving conditions, from long-range spot-lights for high-speed driving to ditch lights for illuminating the side of the road. This kit offers versatility with high-performance 4Banger LED pods in a spot beam pattern, installation brackets, and a switched wire harness for proper power. The A-Pillar kit for the 2015+ Colorado has undergone extensive design, prototyping, and testing to ensure perfect compatibility and a modification-free installation using pre-existing mounting points. The laser-cut 304 stainless steel brackets are electroplated and powder-coated for durability. The yellow-output version is optimized for optimal output in rain, snow, or fog, utilizing Phosphor-Converted Yellow LEDs to effectively penetrate atmospheric particles without compromising output. The product prioritizes reliability with a copper DTP (direct thermal path) PCB for maximum heat transfer to an optimized radiator. The cast aluminum shell is electroplated and powder-coated to resist flaking. Potted internals, over-molded input wiring, and a main gasket are designed to IP69K standards for full weather resistance. The kit includes cable routing clips on the bracket stem for clean wiring into the engine bay, and a plug-and-play connection with Morimoto’s switched relay wire harness. The patent-pending 4Banger LED pod light utilizes LucidShape to optimize performance around modern, lumen-dense LEDs from Nichia and Osram, with world-class optics and optimized thermal dynamics. The NCS Spot Beam provides a highly focused 5-degree hot spot surrounded by a 14H x 4C degree flood beam for long-range visibility. The optional wire harness is engineered with high-quality components, including a triple-sealed proprietary 4-pin relay, over-molded inline fuse holder with a 20A mini fuse, DT06-2S female outputs with dual seals, stainless steel power and ground terminals, and a proprietary M-Spec push button switch with an amber-LED backlight. The A-Pillar brackets are compatible with LED pods from most other brands. When properly aimed, the Spot beam complies with SAE J581 standards for an auxiliary high beam. Optional blackout covers are available to comply with local regulations requiring auxiliary lights to be covered for everyday driving.
