The Morimoto 4Banger A-Pillar LED system is a solution for increased light, aimed precisely where desired. It offers versatility, from long-range spotlights for high-speed driving to ditch lights for illuminating the side of the road. The kit includes high-performance 4Banger LED pods in a choice of beam pattern, brackets for easy installation, and a switched wire harness. The A-Pillar kit for the Wrangler JK has undergone extensive design, prototyping, and testing directly on the truck to ensure perfect compatibility, lining up with pre-existing mounting points for a modification-free installation. The brackets are laser cut from 304 stainless steel, electroplated, and powder coated for durability. The yellow-output version is ideal for optimal output in rain, snow, or fog, utilizing Phosphor-Converted Yellow LEDs for effective penetration through particles in the air without compromising output (Filtering white light through a yellow lens achieves the look, but no actual performance benefit in poor weather). The product is designed for reliability with a copper DTP (direct thermal path) PCB that maximizes heat transfer to the radiator, and a cast aluminum shell that is electroplated before powder coating to resist flaking. The internals are potted, input wiring is over-molded, and the main gasket meets IP69K standards for full weather resistance. It also features integrated cable routing clips on the bracket stem. The 4Banger LED pod light has patent-pending proprietary elements, utilizing LucidShape for optimized performance with lumen-dense LEDs from Nichia and Osram. Optics are produced to world-class standards, and thermal dynamics are optimized using SolidWorks. The 4Banger is available with three beam patterns: Wide/Fog, Spot, and Combo. The NCS Combo Beam provides a clear path with medium range, blending width and distance illumination for comfortable driving. The 8H x 4V oval hot spot with a 10V degree spread at beam center is tuned for an ideal flood beam. The A-Pillar brackets are compatible with LED pods from most other brands including Baja Designs, KC Hi-Lites, Rigid Industries, and Diode Dynamics. When aimed properly, the Spot and Combo beams comply with SAE J581 standards for auxiliary high beam, and the Wide beam model is compliant with SAE J583 for use in fog lamps. Optional Blackout Covers are available for localities requiring auxiliary lights to be covered for everyday driving.
