MQB High Pressure Fuel Pump Upgrade

The HPA Motorsports MQB High Pressure Fuel Pump Upgrade (HVA-275) is designed for EA888 Gen3 engines where stock power levels and hardware upgrades strain the OEM fuel system's ability to deliver sufficient fuel mass. The original maximum operating pressure is 200 bar (2900 PSI), but this upgrade enables tuners to increase fuel pressure to over 240 bar (3480 PSI), offering significantly more tuning headroom. This high-pressure fuel pump features OEM Hitachi cores with custom internals, including precision-machined, ground, and DLC-coated pistons and sleeves for enhanced reliability. HPA provides fully assembled, brand-new pumps, ensuring strict quality control and a direct bolt-on installation that requires no additional assembly or special tools. This allows you to retain your original fuel pump for future projects. It is crucial to note that this pump upgrade is specifically for engines running the OEM Hitachi pump and is **not compatible** with vehicles using the Bosch pump. Visually inspect your current pump to ensure it matches the Hitachi design before ordering. Furthermore, proper tuning software is mandatory when upgrading the fuel pump; consult your tuning software provider. Installation tips recommend using VCDS to monitor fueling logs, including RPM, HPFP/Rail Pressure (Specified and Actual), and LPFP Duty Cycle, to ensure the system operates within specifications. If ethanol-blended fuels are used, an upgraded or replaced Low Pressure Fuel Pump (LPFP) may be necessary to prevent controller overheating or insufficient volume to feed the High Pressure Fuel Pump.
