The MSD Street Fire HEI Distributor is designed for value-conscious enthusiasts seeking reliable ignition performance for Chevrolet V8 GM engines. This distributor features a vibrant red cap equipped with brass terminals for superior conductivity. It comes supplied with a dependable 4-pin ignition module and an internal coil, working together to produce a stout spark to ignite the fuel mixture effectively. It also features a heavy-duty distributor gear, utilizing the same refined metallurgy found on MSD's Pro-Billet models for longevity under harsh conditions. For optimizing fuel economy, the distributor incorporates a vacuum advance system, complete with a supplied stop plate to precisely limit the amount of vacuum advance. While offering great performance for general applications, it's important to note that the Street Fire HEI Distributor is not intended for extreme RPM or racing applications. For those demanding higher performance thresholds, MSD recommends their Pro-Billet HEI Distributor, PN 8365. The adjustable centrifugal mechanical advance feature is available as a kit sold separately (PN 8428).
