The Volkswagen OEM Spec Manual Transmission Service Kit provides everything needed to perform a transmission drain and fill service on compatible manual transmissions, specifically those with the 02J gearbox. This kit includes two quarts of Red Line MT-LV HIGH-PERFORMANCE GEAR OIL, a full-synthetic ester-based lubricant formulated for manual transmissions and front-wheel-drive transaxles. The shear-stable formula resists breakdown, maintaining consistent viscosity across a wide temperature range for reduced gear noise and smoother shifting. It also offers a less slippery profile for improved synchronizer function and stronger film strength for enhanced wear protection. This service kit also includes two new drain plugs (part number WHT001882), which serve as a replacement for the original N90917801 plug. The fitment list includes various VW models from the Mk4, Mk5, and Mk6 generations, covering engines such as 1.8T, 2.0L, TDi, 12v VR6, and 2.5L variants across Golf, GTI, and Rabbit submodels.
