The JL Audio RD900/5 is a five-channel system amplifier engineered to power a complete audio system, consisting of a subwoofer and four satellite speakers, delivering 900 watts of high-performance sound. This Class D amplifier utilizes JL Audio's NexD™ ultra-high-speed switching technology for its four main channels. With its robust construction, the RD900/5 is built to withstand extended use and maintain consistent performance. It offers up to 70 watts RMS to each of your car's front and rear speakers, while delivering up to 500 watts RMS to a subwoofer. The amplifier also features a built-in DSP (Digital Signal Processor) that allows for precise tuning of audio settings, including low-pass and high-pass filters, and crossover points. Advanced thermal and overload protection circuitry is included to safeguard against overheating and electrical damage, ensuring reliable and safe operation. Installation involves running 4 AWG copper power wire from the battery, connecting signal cables and remote turn-on wire from the source unit, and running speaker cables. A solid metal grounding point close to the amplifier is essential, using 4 AWG copper wire no longer than 36 inches. The receiver also provides multiple turn-on options, including +12V remote, DC offset-sensing, or signal-sensing methods.
