It is ideal for use with aluminum heads to aluminum blocks or aluminum heads to cast iron blocks, and can withstand shearing forces between dissimilar materials. This gasket features multi-layer stainless steel construction for increased strength, reboundability, and corrosion resistance.

The Cometic MLS (Multi-Layer Steel) Head Gasket offers maximum sealing performance for high-output engines without requiring sealants. The gasket's strength is derived from its multi-layer stainless steel construction, which also provides excellent reboundability and resistance to corrosion. The outer layers of this head gasket are embossed and coated with Viton, a heat-resistant fluoroelastomer capable of withstanding temperatures up to 250°C (482°F). The center layer is composed of uncoated stainless steel, allowing for variations in thickness to meet specific engine requirements. This particular gasket has a compressed operating thickness of 0.040 inches and a bore size of 87mm. This Cometic MLS Head Gasket is specifically designed to fit the following Nissan models with the SR20DET engine: 91-98 Nissan 180SX 2.0 SR20DET, 91-93 Nissan Silvia (S13) 2.0 SR20DET, 94-98 Nissan Silvia (S14) 2.0 SR20DET, and 99-02 Nissan Silvia (S15) 2.0 SR20DET.
