It is constructed from multi-layered cotton gauze soaked in oil, covered with an epoxy-coated alloy mesh. This design allows for increased air flow and efficient filtration, capable of trapping impurities as small as 7 microns.

The filter material consists of multiple layers of cotton gauze, impregnated with low-viscosity oil, and protected by an epoxy-coated alloy mesh. This construction ensures a balance between increased air flow for improved engine performance and a high level of filtration, capable of capturing impurities down to 7 microns, compared to the OEM filter's 10 microns. All BMC air filters come pre-oiled and are washable and regenerable using the appropriate BMC regeneration kit. This BMC Air Filter is specifically designed for the following Mercedes-Benz models: CLA 45 AMG (C118/W118/X118) from 2019 onwards, CLA 45 AMG S from 2019 onwards, A 45 AMG (W177) from 2019 onwards, A 45 AMG S from 2019 onwards, GLA 45 AMG 4MATIC (H247) from 2019 onwards, and GLA 45 AMG S 4MATIC from 2019 onwards. These models are listed with engine codes and specific horsepower ratings (387 HP for standard models and 421 HP for S models).
