Mustang Motorcycle's 79786 Standard Touring One-Piece Seat with Driver Backrest, in black, is designed to upgrade the riding experience for Harley-Davidson Street XG500 (2015-current) and Street XG750 (2015-current) models. This touring seat aims to transform the H-D from a street bike to a highway-ready cruiser. The seat features a 12.5" wide driver seat, positioning the rider back and slightly up for improved leg comfort during long cruises. The passenger seat is 9" wide, ensuring comfort for a companion on extended rides. This seat will not fit the XG750R Flat Tracker or XG750A Street Rod models. Mustang seats are meticulously designed with a combination of baseplate, foam, and cover components to provide maximum comfort. The baseplate is constructed from marine-grade fiberglass for Honda, Kawasaki, Yamaha, Suzuki, and Victory seats, and 16-gauge steel for Harley-Davidson seats (with some exceptions made from marine-grade fiberglass for specific models like FLHT/FLHR Ultra and 2006-up Dyna). Both types of baseplates feature high gloss gel coat (fiberglass) or black epoxy powder coating (steel) for rust protection, riveted brackets, and polyurethane rubber bumpers to prevent contact with the frame and fender and minimize vibration. Internal support wings are added to the baseplate to support the entire width of the molded foam for maximum comfort. The foam is a proprietary controlled-density polyurethane, formulated and cast in-house. It is designed to be soft enough for comfort yet resilient for long rides. The foam density is approximately four pounds per cubic foot. It molds to the rider's body shape within about 15 minutes and retains its shape and support over years of use, without requiring a "break-in" period. Mustang does not use gel in its seats, as their foam is designed to compress (as opposed to gel's displacement) for optimal support and all-day comfort. The cover is made of premium vinyl.
