Mustang Rack & Pinion '79-93 Manual

These racks are designed for the 5.0L (1979-93) Mustang (Also available for 1994-04 Mustang -- non-Modular engines). The 5.0 Mustang kits are available in standard 20:1 Ratio and 15:1 Quick Ratio versions. These racks are ideal for road racing and other applications where a very responsive steering system is required. STANDARD -- 20:1 ratio, 4 turns lock to lock. QUICK RATIO -- 15:1 ratio, 3.3 turns lock-to-lock (25% faster than a standard unit). Rack travel -- 5.25". Mounting position: 15-1/2" center-to-center. Installation time is approximately 2 hours. A 9/16"-26 spline to 3/4" DD U Joint (FR-1709DD) is required (not included) to adapt to an OEM power steering shaft or to convert a Flaming River FR1504P power steering shaft to a manual rack. A complete chrome moly manual steering shaft (part number FR-1504M) can also be used. UPR Extreme or Maximum Bumpsteer Kits are available to complete the steering rack. Standard or Offset Polyurethane rack bushings are available.
