The Genuine BMW intake manifold, part number 11617559523, is a direct bolt-on upgrade for N52 engines, designed to enhance performance beyond the standard two-stage manifold. While sharing many components with lower-power N52 engines, the 330i's intake manifold features a third stage that optimizes airflow for increased power at higher RPMs, potentially yielding up to a 40hp gain when combined with software upgrades. This manifold utilizes two DISA (Differential Air Control) valves to manage airflow and improve throttle response. This part is specifically designed for N52 engines, not the N51 SULEV models which already feature a 3-stage manifold (though de-tuned by software). The N52 engines covered include those in the 2006+ 128i, 325i, 328i, 330i, 528i, X3 30i, X5 30i, and Z4 30i models. It's important to note that purchasing this intake manifold does not include the required 330i DISA valves, which must be sourced separately. While the manifold is a direct bolt-on, optimal performance gains are realized when paired with 330i-spec software tuning. Without the software, the full potential of the increased airflow may not be achieved. Installation on non-330i models is functional but will not unlock the complete power upgrade.
