N54 HD Front Mount Intercooler

The VRSF Performance HD FMIC is engineered to be a direct bolt-on upgrade for the BMW E60 535i and 535xi models equipped with the N54 engine, covering the 2007-2010 model years. Compared to the OEM intercooler, which can experience a 32-degree temperature rise during a 3rd gear pull, the VRSF 5" stepped intercooler maintains a mere 0-3 degree rise under the same conditions. This enhanced cooling performance is crucial for maintaining engine power, especially when running tunes that increase boost levels beyond OEM specifications. Overwhelmed stock intercoolers can lead to power loss and potential pre-detonation in the upper RPM range. Constructed with a high-density bar and plate core, the VRSF intercooler utilizes 3D CAD-designed cast aluminum end tanks for superior flow compared to traditional sheet metal designs. These seamless, one-piece end tanks offer greater durability. The intercooler is finished in a bright silver coating to protect against corrosion. Installation is designed to be straightforward, taking less than 2.5 hours, and includes all necessary hardware, custom-molded couplers, and stainless steel t-bolt clamps. The design also allows for the retention of the factory fan shroud.
