N54 Intercooler Upgrade Kit

The VRSF Intercooler Upgrade Kit is engineered as a direct bolt-on replacement for the stock intercooler in 2009-2016 BMW Z4 35i and 35is models equipped with the N54 engine. By replacing the factory unit, which is prone to heat soak and power loss under increased boost, this kit ensures more consistent power delivery and reduces the risk of pre-detonation and knock. The core of the VRSF intercooler utilizes a custom bar and plate design with a high-density, staggered, and offset fin pack. This construction is optimized for superior intake air temperature reduction while minimizing pressure drop. Unlike the OEM tube-and-fin design, the bar and plate core is significantly more robust and better withstands road debris. VRSF offers three core size options: 5" Performance HD (up to 550whp), 7.5" Competition HD (up to 850whp), and 7.5" Race HD (up to 1100whp), each tailored for different performance levels. Construction features 3D CAD-designed cast aluminum end tanks for enhanced flow and durability compared to sheet metal designs. The intercooler is finished in a bright silver coating for corrosion resistance. Installation is designed to be straightforward, typically completed in under 2.5 hours, and includes custom-molded couplers and stainless steel t-bolt clamps. The 5" core generally requires minimal or no trimming of the factory fan shroud, while the 7.5" core may require some trimming. Both LHD and RHD models are supported.
