N54 PCV Valve

The RB N54 PCV Valve is an upgraded replacement designed to resolve issues with the factory plastic PCV valve in the N54 engine. The OEM component is known to not hold pressure effectively, even when new. During boosted conditions, this can lead to the pressurized PCV valve leaking turbocharged pressures directly into the crankcase. The severity of this leak can vary depending on the condition of the original valve. Furthermore, problems such as cracked valve covers, loose fittings, or faulty gaskets can also contribute to pressure leaks, either externally or internally into the crankcase, exacerbating pressurization problems and potentially causing oil loss. This upgraded PCV valve utilizes Genuine OEM core PCV valves to ensure the highest level of performance and quality. RB Turbo asserts that no other available valve surpasses its performance. It is particularly recommended for N54 engines that are used for high-performance applications or have accumulated higher mileage, as these scenarios often place greater stress on the PCV system. It is important to note that this solution specifically addresses the OEM PCV valve itself and will not rectify issues arising from a leaky valve cover gasket, which is a common problem on the N54 engine. It is advised to replace the OEM gasket with a new one and use a quality sealant around the pressurization ports when servicing the valve cover. While the RB PCV Valve does not negate the benefits of using an oil catch can, it may reduce the amount of oil collected. The presence of significant oil in a catch can could indicate a less healthy internal valve cover PCV valve, PCV system, or an engine experiencing excess blow-by. The RB PCV Valve does not include the RB Screw-on Cap; this must be ordered separately.
