The manifold is constructed from die-formed sheet metal and billet CNC, making it stronger than stock plastic manifolds and less prone to heat soak than aftermarket cast designs.

The Black Market Parts (BMP) N54 Performance Manifold offers an upgrade for BMW vehicles equipped with N54 engines, aiming to enhance airflow and support advanced fueling options. Constructed from durable die-formed sheet metal and billet CNC, it provides a stronger alternative to the factory plastic manifold. It also includes six direct port methanol or nitrous ports (1/8" NPT) and four additional expansion ports suitable for boost gauges or blow-off valves. Installation requires the use of spacers for injectors and the fuel rail to ensure proper o-ring seating, which are included with the kit. It's important to note that the factory-style airbox is incompatible with this manifold due to the top-mounted fuel rail. Additionally, some users have reported that the car engine feels tighter in terms of response, with improved throttle response and less indecisive BOV sounds under cruise control. The manifold weighs 14.8 lbs without injectors or fuel line. Additional hardware, such as an M7 x 1.0 x 35mm bolt and M7 flat washers, may be required if not using a phenolic spacer.
