Overview

The VRSF N55 Downpipe is an upgrade designed to reduce back pressure by replacing the restrictive factory catalytic converter. This modification leads to faster turbo spool, increased power, and a more aggressive exhaust note. It is constructed from hand-crafted, tig-welded 304-grade stainless steel with smooth radius bends to decrease turbulence and improve flow. The flanges are CNC precision machined from billet 304-grade stainless steel.

The VRSF N55 Downpipe Upgrade is presented as the "best bang for the buck" modification for select BMW N55 engines from 2012-2018. By eliminating the restrictive factory catalytic converter, this downpipe significantly reduces back pressure, resulting in quicker turbo spool, an increase in horsepower, and a more aggressive exhaust sound. Constructed from hand-crafted, tig-welded SS304 grade stainless steel, the downpipe features smooth radius bends designed to decrease turbulence and enhance flow. The flanges are CNC precision machined from billet 304 grade stainless steel, ensuring a precise fit and durable connection. A 200-cell high-flow catalytic converter option is available. VRSF offers a lifetime warranty on their downpipes. Fitment is critical and depends on the vehicle's production date and model. M135i and 335i models produced up to July 2013 require the 3.5" version, while those produced after require the 4" version. All M235i and 435i models require the 4" version. Buyers are advised to confirm their vehicle's specific requirements by checking the location of the turbo wastegate. Tuning is recommended for optimal performance and gains of 20-25hp are claimed with a tune. Ceramic coating services are also available, which utilize Cerakote High Temperature Ceramic coating to withstand temperatures up to 1800F, helping to reduce intake air temperatures. A 1-year warranty applies to the ceramic coating and catted versions.
