The Burger Motorsports BMS N55 Induction System is a performance intake upgrade designed for BMW N55 turbocharged engines. It replaces the stock upper airbox with a smooth, high-flow inlet tube and a large cone filter, while retaining the factory lower airbox for heat shielding and cold air induction. This system aims to improve throttle response, reduce turbo spool time, and enhance the induction sound.

This upgrade is specifically designed to replace the restrictive factory upper airbox on BMW E-series models equipped with the N55 turbocharged straight-six engine. By incorporating a smooth, high-flow inlet tube and a large, reusable cone air filter, the system reduces airflow restriction, leading to improved throttle response, quicker turbo spool, and a deeper, more noticeable induction note without excessive cabin drone. The BMS N55 Induction System thoughtfully retains the OEM lower airbox. This design serves a dual purpose: it acts as an effective heat shield, preventing heat soak, and maintains the factory cold air feed ducting, ensuring optimal air temperature for performance. The reusable filter can be easily cleaned and re-oiled, offering long-term value. The system maintains a clean and premium look under the hood. Proven through dyno and road testing, this intake system delivers real-world improvements in drivability and mid-range power delivery. Compatibility is limited to BMW E-Series models with the N55 engine: 2011-2013 E82/E88 135i, 2011 E90/E91 335i/335xi, 2011-2013 E92/E93 335i/335xi, and 2012+ N55 X1. This intake is **not compatible with N54 engines**. The filter requires cleaning every 15,000 to 20,000 miles using a standard cleaning kit.
