The VRSF Race Intercooler FMIC is engineered as a direct bolt-on upgrade for select BMW vehicles, offering superior performance over the stock tube-and-fin intercooler. The factory intercooler is easily overwhelmed by increased boost and airflow, leading to heat soak, power loss, and potential engine knock. This VRSF unit features an application-specific, high-density bar and plate core, carefully tuned to minimize pressure drop while significantly reducing intake air temperatures. Its staggered and offset fin pack design ensures optimal cooling. Constructed with 3D CAD-designed, CFD-optimized cast aluminum end tanks, this intercooler promotes improved airflow and durability compared to sheet metal alternatives. The one-piece seamless cast end tanks are robust and finished in a bright silver coating to protect against corrosion. The core itself is 102% larger than the OEM intercooler and is much more resistant to damage from road debris. It fits both Left Hand Drive (LHD) and Right Hand Drive (RHD) models, as well as all XI variants. The product includes a lifetime warranty. This intercooler is compatible with various BMW models from 2007 to 2016, including the 535i, 535xi, 640i, 640xi, 740i, and 740Li. Fitment should always be confirmed using the vehicle selector.
