Overview

The Brian Tooley Racing 400+ NA Camshaft V2 is a hydraulic roller camshaft designed for Gen III/IV LS engines. Developed in-house with BTR-designed lobes, this camshaft is suitable for 402-427 cubic inch naturally aspirated engines operating in the 3500-7000 rpm range.

It features 236 degrees of intake duration and 25X degrees of exhaust duration, with a lift of .636" on both intake and exhaust. The lobe separation angle is 114 LSA, and it has 18.5 degrees of overlap, providing an aggressive sound while remaining suitable for long-distance driving. The updated cam timing events are compatible with Square or Cathedral Port heads and various intake manifolds.

The Brian Tooley Racing 400+ LS NA Camshaft V2 is engineered for naturally aspirated Gen III/IV LS engines, specifically for 402-427 cubic inch displacements. Developed in-house utilizing BTR's proprietary lobe designs, this camshaft is optimized for a broad powerband from 3500 to 7000 rpm. Its specifications include 236 degrees of intake duration and 25X degrees of exhaust duration, with a lift of .636" on both intake and exhaust lobes. The 114 LSA contributes to an aggressive exhaust note due to 18.5 degrees of overlap, yet it retains drivability for extended journeys. This camshaft is versatile, working well with both Square and Cathedral Port cylinder heads, as well as long-runner FAST or Victor Jr. style intake manifolds. It can also accommodate centrifugal superchargers (YSi, F1R, F1X) or a 250-300 horsepower nitrous oxide system. Back-to-back testing has shown that its increased exhaust duration enhances power delivery from 3500 RPM to redline, contrary to common assumptions. Installation requires specific components to ensure optimal performance and durability. The camshaft is designed exclusively for use with 1.7 ratio rocker arms. For automatic transmissions, an aftermarket stall converter is recommended. Additionally, a .660" Lift Platinum spring kit with titanium retainers and hardened pushrods are mandatory for proper valve train stability and to meet durability standards. Spintron testing was performed on these BTR lobe designs to ensure strict standards were maintained.
