The Flyin' Miata FM V-Maxx Classic coilovers are an exclusive suspension upgrade package tailored for NA Miatas, aiming to revitalize older chassis with improved handling and adjustability. These coilovers feature redesigned rear shocks with offset bushings, offering enhanced clearance for a broader range of ride height adjustments. The front setup employs a single, long spring design to maximize ride height capabilities without compromising coil bind. These coilovers are engineered with fixed shock damping that is carefully matched to the spring rates, which are specified at 391 lb/in for the front and 258 lb/in for the rear. This configuration aims to provide a balanced handling characteristic. The rear shock bodies are intentionally shorter by 1/2 inch to increase compression travel, contributing to an improved ride quality and handling performance, particularly at lower ride heights. The adjustable spring perches allow for precise control over ride height and corner weighting. Installation is facilitated by the inclusion of NB upper mounts and all necessary bushings and washers, enabling the use of the later-generation Mazda design in NA models. The kit replaces all original suspension components for a more straightforward installation. It is crucial to note that these coilovers are not compatible with FM's rear upper mounts; only factory upper mounts are recommended due to the risk of over-compressing the suspension. Furthermore, these coilovers are designed as a performance setup and are intended to be run at a lower-than-stock ride height, with recommended settings of approximately 12-12.5 inches in the front and 12.5-13 inches in the rear.
