NexGen AR5 to LS Transmission Adapter Kit

The FABbot NexGen AR5 to LS Transmission Adapter Kit provides a cost-effective solution for integrating an Aisin AR5 5-speed manual transmission into your LSx engine build. This kit is engineered to allow the direct mounting of an AR5 transmission to Gen III or Gen IV LS engines, utilizing a factory LS 4L60e bellhousing without requiring any modifications to the bellhousing or front bearing retainer. This NexGen configuration also supports the use of an SFI bellhousing. The kit includes the core components needed for the conversion: the FABbot AR5 to LS Adapter Plate, a pilot bearing, a FABbot Clutch Slave Cylinder Spacer, and all necessary hardware. To ensure full functionality, several additional components and considerations are required. These include an appropriate AR5 transmission (sourced from vehicles like the Chevrolet Colorado, Pontiac Solstice, Saturn Sky, or Polaris Slingshot), a compatible clutch and flywheel set (designed for F-Body LS1-to-T56 applications), and a clutch slave cylinder (the stock Colorado slave cylinder is recommended, or an alternative can be supplied). Furthermore, the system requires a specific GM 4L60E bellhousing, identified by a late LS design with an upper mounting bolt hole and casting number 24206952, which must have a 7-inch depth. A remote bleeder and -3AN or -4AN feed line are also necessary for NexGen configurations; if these are not used, two 1.5-inch holes may need to be cut into the bellhousing. Clutch master cylinder specifications (minimum 11/16" bore, with consideration for pedal ratio) and clutch line compatibility also need to be addressed. Optional accessories like a remote bleeder are available to simplify installation and maintenance.
