Nexus RZ2 Plug-in ECU

The Haltech Nexus Plug-in ECU (HT-231402) is specifically designed for the Mazda RX-8 Series 1, covering model years 2003-2008 with either the 13B-MSP Renesis 6-port engine (ADM, USDM, JDM, EUDM) or the 13B 4-port engine (JDM), exclusively for manual transmissions. This ECU directly plugs into the factory harness, nesting neatly into the original location for a straightforward installation. It replaces the factory MAF sensor with an onboard MAP sensor and includes a vacuum hose and T-piece for installation. The system supports electronic throttle and pedal calibration via the NSP software and can accommodate forced induction modifications with its available auxiliary connector outputs. Advanced connectivity is provided through Wi-Fi and USB-C, enabling real-time data viewing, gauge setup, DTC clearing, and parameter adjustments via the Haltech Connect App on smartphones and tablets. The NSP software guides users through a comprehensive setup wizard to create a custom basemap tailored to the specific vehicle and engine configuration, including options for 4-port or 6-port engines and injector staging. However, the wizard setup or base map serves only as a starting point, and the ECU requires appropriate tuning afterward; Haltech is not responsible for engine damage due to improper base map use. Important compatibility notes and requirements include: the factory wideband O2 sensor is not supported and must be replaced with a Bosch LSU 4.9 or NTK sensor via the auxiliary port. Electronic Throttle and Pedal systems require calibration. ABS module compatibility varies by region (ADM, USDM, JDM, European versions of CAN addressing are supported; K-line is not). Unsupported ABS modules can lead to ABS light activation, disabled ABS, and non-functional speedometer/odometer. Tuning on a dyno requires disabling DSC by pressing the “DSC OFF” button. An optional I/O expansion harness, sold separately, is available to support additional sensors like wideband hardware packs, flex fuel, oil pressure, fuel pressure, and air temperature sensors.
