Classic 350 with great street manners, and vacuum for all your power accessories. This engine features an OE block with 4-bolt main, 1pc seal, suitable for 1987-2000 applications. It has a bore/stroke of 4.040 x 3.480, resulting in a 350 displacement. The crankshaft is OE Reground with external balance at the rear and internal balance at the front. It uses OE powder metal 5.7” rods and hypereutectic pistons for a 9.1:1 compression ratio. Rings are Moly. The camshaft is hydraulic flat tappet with specs of 224/234 @50 .465in/.488ex 112LSA, and a double roller timing chain. Cylinder heads are ATK cast iron 76cc/165cc with 1.94/1.50 valves. Stamped steel 1.5 ratio rocker arms are used. The oil pan is a rear sump 5qt (not for Chevelles with steering behind crossmember, some Corvettes and 62-67 Chevy II’s). A Melling high volume oil pump is included. Recommended components include Dayco internal balance 8” balancer #PB1046-N, Pioneer #FRA-159 external balance 168 tooth flexplate/flywheel, Weiand stealth dual plane #8150 intake manifold, HEI distributor (iron gear), OE long water pump, Quick Fuel 670CFM vacuum secondaries with electric choke #BR-67256 carburetor, mechanical 80-110GPH fuel pump, Champion #RV12C spark plugs, and 8mm spark plug wires. Recommended oil is Conventional / Non Synthetic 10W30 with Comp Cam zinc additive #159 for the first 3000 miles, and Wix or K&N oil filter per application. Timing should be 34-36 degrees, spark plug gap .035”, firing order 18436572. Requires 91+ octane fuel, a 2200-2500 stall converter, and 1 5/8 Headers.
