The MRT 80U900 No-Drill Hood Struts are designed to replace the factory hood prop rod on 2015-2023 Ford Mustangs equipped with OE factory hoods, including the 2021-23 Mustang Mach 1. This upgrade offers a clean, functional "performance look" to your underhood appearance, making it easier to access the engine area for maintenance or to showcase your build at car shows. MRT utilizes load-equalizing technology to ensure a consistent and stable hood opening mechanism. The "no-drill" design means they reuse existing factory hood attachment points, requiring no vehicle modifications and allowing for a straightforward installation that can be reversed if necessary. Installation is estimated to take 30 minutes or less with no special tools required. These hood struts are compatible with all sixth-gen North American factory hoods, including EcoBoost, V6, GT, Bullitt, and Shelby GT500 models. However, they are NOT compatible with the 2015-20 GT350 (MRT offers part #80U901 for GT350 models), right-hand drive models, or aftermarket hoods. For aftermarket hoods, customers are advised to contact MRT directly to determine proper gas strut sizing, as the hood weight needs to be provided.
