The Zumbrota Drivetrain NP231 transfer case is a remanufactured unit designed for 2003-2006 Jeep Wrangler and 1997-2001 Jeep Cherokee models with the 4.0L engine. This transfer case has undergone a thorough remanufacturing process, including rigorous inspection and testing of internal components for wear such as cracks, stripped threads, shaft straightness, gear wear, and chain stretch. Zumbrota Drivetrain utilizes a proprietary Hydro-blast rinse and blasting procedure on both internal and external parts, followed by a deep cleaning process. The rebuild includes the replacement of all bearings, seals, and viscous couplers. Each finished unit is thoroughly spun-tested to ensure proper shift-ability and noise levels. The transfer case is shipped in a high-density plastic tote to prevent damage during transit. Key specifications include a 23-spline input shaft with a 0.84-inch exposed length, a bolt-on front output yoke, and a 27-spline rear output shaft equipped with a rubber boot. A shift indicator switch is conveniently located above the shift lever. This model is designed for Jeep Wrangler models from 2003 to 2006 and Cherokee models from 1997 to 2001.
