The Nitto NT05 is a maximum performance tire engineered for racing vehicles, capable of also handling motorway driving. It features a continuous center rib that maintains consistent road contact, directly improving racing performance. This construction is complemented by a steel casing, body ply, and rayon carcass, which together equip the tire with highly predictable handling characteristics that endure over time. For enhanced stability and control, the NT05 incorporates reinforced tread blocks that increase the tire's stiffness. This design helps maintain steady handling, especially at high speeds. The tire's UTQG rating of 200 AA A signifies its performance metrics: 200 for treadwear, AA for traction (indicating excellent stopping ability on wet pavement), and A for temperature resistance (high resistance to heat buildup at speed). Additional specifications for the 255/40ZR17 size include a load index of 98, a maximum load capacity of 1653 lbs, and a maximum inflation pressure of 50 psi. The tread depth is 7.2/32", and it is designed for a rim width range of 8.5 to 10.0 inches with an overall diameter of 25.08 inches.
