The Nitto NT555 G2 is a next-generation ultra-high performance summer tire engineered for drivers seeking enhanced performance. It boasts improvements in traction, handling, and wet braking over its predecessor, the original NT555. Key features include larger tread blocks, particularly on sizes 275mm and wider, which enhance traction for high-horsepower vehicles, especially in staggered fitments. Twin center ribs contribute to improved dry traction and straight-line stability, while large tapered blocks increase grip and cornering stability. The tire's high stiffness silica compound, reinforced with a special bonding agent, boosts compound rigidity for superior handling in both wet and dry conditions. Circumferential grooves are incorporated for effective water evacuation and enhanced wet handling, and reinforced shoulder treadblocks further improve cornering grip. Performance ratings for the NT555 G2 indicate 4.5 out of 5 for both Dry and Wet Performance, with a 3 out of 5 for Quietness and Ride Comfort. The UTQG rating is 320 for treadwear, AA for traction, and A for temperature, signifying good durability and stopping capability. The tire has a speed rating of W and a load index of 97, with a maximum load capacity of 1609 lbs and a maximum inflation pressure of 50 psi.
