OBD2 Scanner Diagnostic Tool

The Veepeak OBDCheck BLE is a compact Bluetooth OBD-II scanner that transforms your iOS or Android smartphone or tablet into a diagnostic tool and real-time performance monitor. It directly plugs into your vehicle's OBD-II port and connects wirelessly via Bluetooth LE (for iOS) or Bluetooth LE/Classic (for Android) to a compatible third-party app. This device is capable of reading and clearing generic OBD-II trouble codes related to the check engine light, viewing freeze frame data, and assessing I/M readiness for smog checks. It also provides access to live sensor data, allowing you to monitor your vehicle's health. The OBDCheck BLE offers broad compatibility, working with most 1996 and newer cars and light trucks in the US. It supports several popular OBD-II protocols, including J1850 PWM, J1850 VPW, ISO9141-2, ISO14230-4 (KWP2000), and ISO 15765-4 (CAN). However, it does not support MS-CAN or SW-CAN protocols. Note that special functions such as oil light reset, brake resets, injector coding, and relearning procedures are not supported by this device. Connecting to your device requires using a compatible third-party app, which is not included and may require a separate purchase. Recommended apps include Car Scanner ELM OBD2, Torque (Android), OBD Fusion, BimmerCode, BimmerLink, OBD JScan, and Dr. Prius. It's important to avoid imitation apps that may have similar names, as they could require subscriptions or malfunction. Specific app limitations apply; for instance, model years before 2008 are not supported when using BimmerCode or BimmerLink, and certain BMW series (G & U) are also excluded for BimmerCode. MS-CAN is not supported in FORScan and AlfaOBD apps. Connection instructions are crucial: do not pair the device through your phone's native Bluetooth settings, especially for iOS devices. Instead, open the compatible app, set the connection type to Bluetooth LE (for iOS), and connect from within the app. Android users may also connect directly through the app if it supports Bluetooth LE, or by pairing first if the app requires it. While it offers partial support for electric vehicles (EVs) with specific apps like Car Scanner ELM OBD2, it's essential to check app compatibility for EV functionality.
