The VIS Racing carbon fiber hood is an OEM-style replacement for the 1988-1991 Honda Prelude 2-door.

This hood is constructed from Grade-A carbon fiber material, featuring a two-part design. The top layer uses carbon fiber bonded with high-grade epoxy resin and is finished with a UV-protective polyurethane coating. Its underside is a smooth, one-piece shell for enhanced structural integrity, and the edges are hand-smoothed. VIS Racing also utilizes a Vacuum Infusion Process (V.I.P.) for lighter and more durable parts.

The VIS Racing OEM Style Carbon Fiber Hood is designed as a direct replacement for the 1988-1991 Honda Prelude 2-door models. Constructed from Grade-A carbon fiber, this hood features an OEM-style design. The manufacturing process involves bonding the carbon fiber top layer with a high-grade epoxy resin, which is then finished with an ultra-clear, UV-protective polyurethane coating for a high-gloss appearance. A one-piece, smooth underside shell is fused to the top layer, significantly enhancing the product’s structural integrity. The edges are meticulously hand-smoothed to ensure a quality finish. VIS Racing has further refined its manufacturing process by implementing the Vacuum Infusion Process (V.I.P.). This V.I.P. method utilizes a single-mold vacuum to produce parts that are 10-20% lighter than previous iterations while also improving overall durability. The company is transitioning its entire line of carbon fiber parts to this V.I.P. process. All VIS Carbon Fiber Hoods and Trunks include a VIS badge of authenticity. Please note that due to the intended uses of these products, hood pins are required for installation. These products are designated for off-road use only, unless otherwise permitted by local and state laws.
