The Monroe MA822 Max-Air shock absorber is an air-adjustable solution ideal for hauling, allowing you to inflate or deflate up to 150 PSI to maintain level height with additional weight up to 1,200 lbs. This capacity is limited by the vehicle's suspension, tires, and transmission; always consult your owner's manual. Built for longevity, it features a hardened and precision ground piston rod for consistent performance and a sintered iron piston for enhanced durability and service life. The shock absorber utilizes OE all-weather fluid with special modifiers to handle extreme temperatures, reducing friction and ensuring smooth rod reaction. Its full-displacement valving on compression and extension cycles contributes to an exceptional handling and a smooth ride. Installation of air shocks requires specific attention. It is crucial not to rotate air shocks as the upper and lower mounts have a fixed alignment due to the bellows; twisting can prevent proper function. The air line fitting on the dust shield must be oriented correctly to avoid rubbing against the tire, and the air line should be affixed to the vehicle frame, not the suspension, to allow for play. Adjust air shocks to maintain the original ride height; exceeding this can negatively impact suspension geometry, leading to tire wear and handling issues. For manual systems, maintain a minimum of 20 PSI, and avoid operating air shocks with no air pressure.
