Offset Trailing Arm

The Van Steel TA-25 Offset Trailing Arms are an updated design for the 1963-1982 Chevrolet Corvette, engineered to enhance tire fitment and suspension performance. These arms provide an additional 2 inches of offset, allowing you to fit wider tires on stock rims or utilize aftermarket rims with greater backspacing. Crucially, the bearing assembly placement is retained in its factory position, and you can keep your original strut bars and half shafts, simplifying installation. Constructed with a modern cast design and incorporating a spherical bearing, these trailing arms significantly reduce deflection and binding at the control arm pivot. The spherical bearing itself is Teflon-lined for longevity and features a c-clip retention system for straightforward replacement. This sophisticated design contributes to both increased handling precision and a more comfortable ride quality, making them suitable for more than just race applications. The arms come with a durable black powder coating for protection and a lasting appearance. Van Steel backs these components with their Limited Lifetime Warranty. Note that while these arms allow for wider tires, specific wheel sizes may necessitate additional considerations. For 15x9" wheels, a 0.5" shortened spring is recommended; for 15x10" wheels, a 1" shortened spring is required. Similarly, 17" wheels wider than 9" may need a 0.5" or 1" shortened spring for maximum clearance. 18x10" wheels might require a 0.5" shortened spring and could contact the tire during suspension droop. It is also important to note that these trailing arms are not upgradeable to coilovers. Furthermore, using these offset trailing arms for any application other than their intended design with steel or composite leaf springs will void the warranty.
