During engine operation, blow-by gases and oil vapor pass through the PCV valve into the intake. This can cause oil mist and contaminants to adhere to intake valves, reducing performance. The JBR Oil Catch Can system helps prevent this by capturing up to 350ml of oil.

During everyday engine operation, blow-by gases and oil vapor from the engine's rotating assembly pass through the PCV valve and are routed into the intake. Some of this oil mist and other contaminants adhere to the backside of the hot intake valves, forming a thick crust over time that significantly reduces performance and can lead to costly repairs. This is particularly problematic for the 2.3L motor as there is no fuel washing over the valves to keep them clean. The JBR Oil Catch Can is constructed from 6061 billet aluminum and features a unique design with three perforated plates to capture oil from the PCV gases. As gases enter the can, a pressure drop causes oil to fall out of suspension. The plates then capture remaining oil through capillary action, ensuring only gas reaches the outlet. These perforated filter plates will never break down or require replacement, unlike dense micron screens or mesh filters. This kit is designed to capture up to 350ml of oil, and its integrated dipstick allows for easy level checking. A convenient drain valve and hose are included for simple oil removal. The kit comes complete with the JBR Billet Oil Catch Can with 5/8" hose fittings, pre-cut oil and fuel-resistant hoses with clamps, stainless steel mounting hardware, and installation instructions.
