The CSF x Bimmerworld E36 Euro Spec Oil Cooler & Filter Housing Upgrade Kit (8301-KIT) is a comprehensive solution for adding efficient oil cooling to 6-cylinder E36 3-Series and Z3 models (M52/S52 engines). This kit utilizes the Euro E36 M3's oil cooler and filter housing (OFH) to increase oil capacity by approximately 0.75 liters and prevent temperature-based oil breakdown, thereby extending engine life. It is a crucial upgrade for turbocharged or supercharged vehicles and highly recommended for track cars operating in ambient temperatures of 100 degrees Fahrenheit or more. It integrates with your original US hardware, and your existing sensors can be transferred over. The Euro oil filter housing is compatible with the same oil filter used in US E36 models, and an included oil line adapter bolt ensures the housing does not require modification. The cooler hangs below the radiator using existing tabs on US-spec radiators; however, the MZ3 S54 radiator is better suited for this upgrade due to its shorter core and increased clearance. This upgrade is recommended only for vehicles with a manual transmission due to the potential interference of the automatic transmission's heat exchanger. Additionally, the factory rubber lines may interfere with supercharger belts or turbo piping and intercooler setups, in which case custom-made lines using PTFE or stainless steel with -AN fittings may be necessary. Professional installation is highly recommended.
